TroubleshootingMetadata Issues

Metadata Issues

Metadata issues can happen when a source uses a different title, incomplete data, mismatched artwork, or missing provider details.

Wrong title or poster

Try:

  • search with the exact title
  • remove extra punctuation or edition text
  • check release year when available
  • choose the correct result before importing metadata
  • manually correct the title if the provider result is wrong

NFO metadata not importing

Check:

  • the NFO file is present
  • the NFO file is associated with the expected poster/media item
  • the title in the NFO matches the item closely enough
  • the NFO importer plugin is enabled

Kodi or Plex metadata

If using Kodi or Plex-style metadata workflows, confirm the media tool has already scanned and organized the item correctly. PosterFlow can only work with the metadata or exported information available to it.

Provider data is missing

Provider-backed metadata depends on the provider source. If a title is missing or incomplete, the provider may not have that information, the title may be named differently, or the provider may require additional configuration.

Artwork looks wrong

Artwork can vary by source. If the imported artwork does not match your preferred poster, use a manually curated poster image or internal library workflow for that title.
